REFEREES

ALL FCYSA CERTIFIED REFEREES BELONG TO THE U.S. SOCCER FEDERATION REFEREE PROGRAM

Youth and adult referees are always needed. You must be 12 or older to apply. You will advance with age and experience. Refereeing can become a rewarding life long occupation. Referees are compensated. You may be a player and still be a referee.

You must be at least approaching 13 years of age
You must complete the required US Soccer referee course. (see links). This consists of the online course and one live training session.
The course costs $40. This payment is for the entire calendar year. You will be reimbursed this payment at the end of your first season as a referee.. There are two seasons within a calendar year.
You will be able to re certify annually by taking the online course. This will also be reimbursed as long as you are an FCYSA referee

All referees are assigned to games by the US Soccer Referee Assignor for FCYSA.
You will be assigned to young age groups where the rules are simpler as you train.
Your abilities are assessed as you progress.
You will typically be assigned to games in age groups younger than you are.
Referees are paid and receive their payment at the end of the season. Payment amount per game depends on the age division which you were assigned to and whether you served as AR (assistant referee) or Center Referee.
You will be reimbursed for your course fees
